Helen Burroughs
Helen Burroughs has a versatile palette and enjoys painting in three mediums---oil pastel flowers which provide a sense of joy; oil landscapes for peaceful meditation; and the excitement and challenge of creating abstract acrylics. Helen is a native of California, and a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles. Her world travels, in her career in international trade, have influenced her use of vivid colors. She lives in Northern Virginia and has a studio on the Northern Neck in Virginia. Her work has been shown in Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., Indiana and California. Her work can be seen at the Jarretthor Fine Arts Gallery in Colonial Beach, Virginia.
The Caribbean---One of the most varied geographical, historical and anthropological regions in the world. Its variety is reflected in its diversity of language, ethnicity, cuisine, religion and politics. Caribbean art is a combination of these many influences. In my paintings I capture the bold exploration of color; the reflection of light; and the year round sunshine of the Caribbean.
