John Anderson
An award-winning artist whose work have been published in numerous publications. He holds an undergraduate Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and attended a year of graduate studies from Pratt Institute. He also studied life painting from Robert Liberace at the art league in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.
Anderson’s work has been described as raw and honest. He seeks to capture the essence of those he draws. More than simply replicating his subjects. His drawings are captivated by powerfully expressive faces, hands and flesh that appears warm to touch. Ultimately, there is a truth and timelessness to John’s work because it is so deeply human. His subjects are distilled in an exact moment in time, patiently contemplating their present.
