BIO
I am DAVID ALLEN HARRIS, a descendent of Underground Railroad Conductor Frank Wanzer, fine art artists and musicians. I grew up in the San Francisco bay area during the 1970’s where I was exposed to a lot of artistic influences during my own self-exploration of creative self-expression. Back then, sketching was my primary passion in art classes, but I also took a lot of science classes. In the eighties, I left California and moved to Washington DC to attend school, where I majored in Computer Science. Interestingly, I discovered lot of room for creativity in the expression of computer software algorithms. Upon graduation, I became a software developer and took up photography as a hobby after letting my drawing and musical skills atrophy. After 12 years of just shooting for the joy of composition, I was encouraged by Artist Michael Platt to start exhibiting my work. In 2007, I took the plunge by exhibiting at the DC Artomatic.
Statement
"From a series of photos taken on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning in a large field of Sunflowers. It is a place where children experience overly abundant joy walking amidst the giant yellow totems"
