Festus Izevbigie
Festus Agbons Izevbigie was born in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Educated in Benin City with a high school diploma. He is divinely inspired into the act of straw art making by a friend in 2006. Developed the skills by personal learning and practice.
The use of straw art entails the use of grasses (oven baked) and sawdust. The beauty of this art is in making sense, out of nonsense. The words that mean the most in my artmaking are: Craftsmanship - traditional, information, ideas, visions, celebrations, expressions, rhythm, substance, value, revelation, purposeful and intuition. - F.
