Gloria Valdes "Tarasca"
At a very early age Gloria was diagnosed with ADD, dyslexia and hyperactivity, and for that reason she decided to learn art on her own and start to build her own fantasy world, full of colors, shapes and textures. Owing to her natural curiosity and love of challenges she has over time mastered several styles and techniques. As a result of those exercises she has developed her very own style, something very difficult for many artists to reach. Her art philosophy is: "when nature denies you the techniques, God provides you with infinite creativity."
Completely self-taught, I began building my own fantasy world from which I receive and put back into my work colors and shapes inspired by my ancestral people, the Tarascans, original inhabitants of Michuacan state, in western Mexico, where I was born, and for whom, and in their honor have named myself. - G.
