Margaret Jacobson
BIO
My name is Margaret Jacobson. I am a self-taught artist. I knew I had an artistic talent from a very young age, but decided to pursue a career in social and economic development. With that I have been to Iraq and Afghanistan assisting refugees, and helping with Afghan women's rights issues. Just recently I have decided to pursue a career in art because I love the feeling of coming up with new ideas and creating them. I have found that art is freedom and I enjoy the creative process. My art is very colorful, uplifting and contains a lot of movement. It is my desire to bring life and happiness with my art.
Statement
"This piece is an acrylic painting on canvas of the sea creatures that live below in the sea. It is an uplifting reminder that below the waves of the ocean there is abundant life and creativity with so many different creatures creating a harmonious ecosystem. I used bright colors to detail the bright life of the sea creatures and a bright sun to detail the life and energy it gives to living things."
