Artist Statement
"We the People, a series of mixed media on 29”x 23” posters of the Constitution, is my response to timeless manipulations of power and wealth and their timely manifestations in Citizens United, the Revolving Door, deliberate injustice, and justified wars.
"Even though the Constitution is the ground of the paintings, We the People is not only political; it is humanist, civic, social, ethical, moral, and even spiritual. It enables the audience to debate how wealth inequity erodes democracy, liberty, and human rights. It informs, provokes, and creatively confronts the collusion of political, economic, religious, and military powers. It provides a platform to immerse into the interconnectedness of humanity and the wellbeing of environment. This series aspires to promote ideals that inspire people around the world and seeks to stimulate a candid dialogue leading to a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world." |
