Bio
I was unable to complete College while working to raise a family. I did manage to get one year at SAIC in 1986 and 1987. While helping forge the relationship of commerce with digital technology, I remained a hobbyist artist for many decades. Now, after retiring I am currently attending College to complete my degree at Illinois Central College, with hopes to transfer into SAIC again.

Artist Statement
"I like to call my style Emotional Precisionism...an evolution of the early twentieth century regional style Precisionism - somewhat akin to a Post-Modern Baroque. Although many subjects work, I tend to use figures to introduce emotion into the composition. I am primarily a figurist. Emotion is further enhanced through perspective, light source(s), detail, and color (most importantly, color). Additionally, direction of mark is important, and the manifestation of emotion is aided by the handling or hiding of that mark. I recently completed 2 series (‘Complimentary Skin’ & 'Muses') in which I created many different skin tones via rich under paintings with complimentary hues scumbled over- giving the skin a bright luster. Also, I am in the midst of a ‘Magic Men’ and ‘Chasing the Dragon’ series. My art is influenced by (in order of dominance) Dali, O’Keefe, Hopper, Ault, Caravaggio, Close, Wood, and Da Vinci."
