Artist Statement
"My current work explores the free association between selected photographic images and text. I want to provide and celebrate the power of both humor and paradox for the spectator. I try to create encounters that provoke an AH HA moment. I like that spectators start off a bit confused. I have always respected art that challenges me. I often use objects of popular culture. Most of the work has a sense of humor, but the humor should not be confused with a lack of seriousness.
"I want my work to be: Challenging/Funny, Thoughtful/Curious, Intriguing/Difficult, Beautiful/Confusing, Inviting/Different, Serious/Provocative" |
