I'd like to invite you to my brother-in-law's film screening of "Ota Benga" at the National Museum of African Art. This is a premier screening of Niy Coker Jr.'s critically acclaimed film "Ota Bega." The film documents the life of a Congolese man exhibited at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair and the Bronx Zoo.
There will also be a candid discussion about representations of African and African American masculinity in literature, film, and visual art. The program also includes a docent-led tour of the exhibition "Conversations: African and African American Artworks in Dialogue." Light refreshments will be served.
