About the Juror:
Prof. Curlee Raven Holton, Executive Director, David C. Driskell Center and Distinguished Artist in Residence, Department of Art, University of Maryland. An artist-scholar, Holton is an internationally renowned printmaker and painter whose work has been exhibited professionally for over 25 years in more than 60 one-person shows and over 100 group shows in such prestigious national and international venues as the 7th International Biennale in Cairo, Egypt; Taller de Artes Plasticás Rufino Tamayo in Oaxaca, Mexico; the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. He earned his M.F.A. with honors from Kent State University and his B.F.A. from the Cleveland Institute of Art in Drawing and Printmaking. |
Theme: Climax: The Best of the Best highlights what the artist feels is his or her best work, most inspiring message, and/or most sublime visual imagery.

Prizes: Best in Show - $700, Second Place - $250, Third Place - $100, Honorable Mentions (4 Crystal Weights)
Entry Fee: $0 - Up to eight works of art may be submitted. Four pieces will be exhibited for each selected artist. You must submit at least four pieces to be considered.
Eligibility: Artists 18 years of age and older. This is a nationwide and international artist call. Washington, DC Metropolitan area artists are especially urged to enter. Only 2D wall art will be juried (painting, mixed media, photography, textile.) No freestanding sculpture. Original art only, no reproductions (except for limited edition photography.) No nudity.
Wall Art Maximum Sizes & Guidelines: 60" W x 72"H. Other sizes may be considered on a case by case basis. Hanging hardware: All framed and/or unframed artwork must have hanging wire, D-rings or screw eyes securely attached to the back of the artwork, and must support the weight of the piece. No saw tooth! Frame: Neat, clean, sturdy and complementing artwork. Unframed canvas should have finished edges. Mixed media artwork must be suitably framed. All selected artists will exhibit four pieces of art.
Commission: 30% to benefit Art Impact USA, Inc.
NOTE: An exhibition catalog will be published. Our sponsors may be able to cover the entire cost. However, if we need to raise additional funds, all selected artists may be asked to contribute up to $100.00 for the full color, perfectly bound publication.
