DESCRIPTION
This is a AIUSA members only invitational exhibition. There are no entry fees. The requirement is simple: Paintings that deal with the idea, "Imagination with information brings transformation." We want to support the reason for having a library in the first place. The librarian suggested that pure abstract paintings usually don't work so well. So, if you are an abstract painter, I'd say to include some figure or representational aspect in your pieces. If you definitely want all three pieces in the show, the three together should not exceed 72 inches in total width. The ceilings of the library gallery are ten feet high. Your statements will be included on the wall next to your pieces. Your general statement and bio will also be included in the exhibition catalog.
There is enough interest in an exhibition catalog, so we will create one by $75 contribution. You will receive four full pages in the catalog.Above is a teaser video. Once you submit all of your images, including the online and video pics they will be included in the final cut of the promotional video and catalog. You will have the opportunity to include an extra piece of your best work in the catalog that will be noted as "online only" even though the original may have already sold. We can offer a Giclée print at the closing reception.
This exhibition is priming us to be able to get (y)our publications into libraries across the nation. For libraries to thrive, they must have visitors. This exhibition helps the library to make their location an interesting place to visit as well as to learn. We are expanding the public's experience of artists and how our work reflects what was, is and will be. Let our voices are being heard, visually and literally.
