Theme
Transcending Boundaries is about the converging of cultures through art. The artists are asked to express their ideas of peace, harmony, freedom and other important values humanity as a whole holds dear, regardless of the national boundary. Transcending Boundaries showcases common ideals across the globe.
It is expected that this exhibition will be the first of many international shows for its members. We must work together to make our international exposure successful.
Eligibility: Art Impact USA Gold Members Only
Note: Upgrade pledges are acceptable with remittance completed by March 15, 2016.
Entry Fee: $0
Note: Artists may be asked to make additional contributions in order to enhance the show. In this case the selected artists will be asked to contribute $100 towards the exhibition catalog production costs. Art Impact USA is a non profit organization that provides exhibition opportunities for artists to show work in awesome places. We promote the exhibition which includes spectacular receptions with live entertainment, refreshments and catalog publications. We extend our best efforts to promote our exhibiting artists in order to attract prospective collectors. We provide artists with tools to boost and showcase their popularity and talent, which will only strengthen their creative careers. We want to help artists shine, not add to their financial stress. AIUSA runs primarily on charitable contributions, so additional gifts would be appreciated.
Restrictions:
To avoid shipping at international rates, DPO postage is to be used to ship the works to the Embassy. The work or package must not exceed 50 lbs, and not exceed 108 inches (length and girth combined.) Width or length of the work or package should not exceed 38 inches. Work should be shipped at least 4 weeks prior to the exhibition opening. Click here to view more information about DPO. Artists may enter up to 10 images to be juried. Selected artists will have no more than one or two pieces in this show. The space is not very large. Up to 12 artists may be selected.
Venue
The Tri-Mission Art Gallery is not open to the public, only to government staff and cleared visitors.

Artist notification: Artists will be notified by email of acceptance or non-acceptance by the end of the business day, Monday, March 7, 2016. At the time of the hanging of the exhibition, the curators reserve the right to decline work that differs significantly from the submitted imagery.
Selected Artist Promotional Benefits:
In addition to participating in the Transcending Boundaries exhibition at the US Embassy in Rome, Italy, each selected artist will receive a back-link of their personal artist website placed on the "Artists" page of the Art Impact USA website. Art Impact USA will promote the selected artists in email promotion, online press release marketing, online event promotions and in social media marketing to art collectors, art gallery owners and directors and related art professionals including art critics. At least two promotional YouTube videos will be created to highlight the selected artists and their work. Click here to view a previous video.
Art Impact USA will promote the Transcending Boundaries exhibit by posting press releases to more than 70+ online Press Release sites and to over 35 DC area newspapers, magazines and radio stations. The Exhibition will receive extensive publicity and increased website traffic in order to make the art world aware of the artist’s accomplishments.
Installation:
All work must be framed and ready to hang. If the work is not frame-able it must at least have the hanging apparatus in the back, sturdy and intact. Please do not ship work that looks shabby on the sides. We want all work to be presented as beautifully as can be. Excellence is one of Art Impact USA's values. All glass must be plexiglass whenever possible. There are up to 12 spaces available. Curator will install the work at a pre-designated time with supervision. Access requests will have to be made where appropriate. There are no photographs allowed.
Travel and Hotel Arrangements:
The curator has made reduced rate hotel arrangements for artists showing at the US Embassy. If you would like to travel to Rome, Italy anytime during this exhibition and be included in these discounts, artists must make reservations by Monday, April 11th. Sales:
70% of the selling price will go to the artist. 30% of the selling price benefits Art Impact USA, Inc. All art sales are conducted directly between Art Impact USA and the collector.

Insurance:
While artwork will be handled with utmost care during the exhibition, neither Tri-Mission Art Gallery nor Art Impact USA is responsible for lost or damaged artwork while it is en route to and from the gallery. Artists are advised to carry their own insurance during shipping and during the exhibition.
Pick up/Return:
The curator will be present to package and return unsold work to the artists. Pre-payment for return shipping must be made prior to the exhibit, and will be refunded if the work is sold. This will be arranged individually by the curator.
Entry into this exhibition constitutes agreement with all terms enumerated in this prospectus, and registration agreement including a commitment to show accepted work for the duration of the exhibition. All of the conditions must be met or work will not be accepted.

About the Curator
Carolyn Goodridge
Executive Director of Art Impact USA, Inc. A native of Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies. An artist who received her Master of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Exhibited widely, including the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, Hampton University Museum, Hampton, VA, Ackland Art Museum, Chapel Hill, NC, Museum of African American Art, Tampa, FL, and many others. Goodridge is a professional member of the American Alliance of Museums, the National Association for Professional Women, the College Art Association, Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts, and Ambassador of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.
